St. Bede the Venerable bid farewell to Father Greg Dongkore on August 23 with a special Mass and reception. Father Greg is returning to his native Ghana at the request of the Bishop to help build a university there to support rural education. The diocese of Ghana originally sent Father Greg to the U.S. to complete his doctoral studies on this very subject. Bishop Gabriel from Ghana joined the special celebration with hundreds of grateful parishioners who came together to give thanks to Father Greg for his service to St. Bede, his friendship and his commitment to serving God and God's people.
