St. Francis Advances in Claremont Passing Tournament

Golden Knights resume action Saturday at 10 a.m.

St. Francis survived the end of the opening day of the Claremont Passing Tournament with a win over winless Burroughs before struggling against Culver City and Etiwanda.

Both their losses were rather close, but fatigue has taken a toll on the Golden Knights with a high number of two-way players on their roster. Quarterback Jared Lebowitz seems to get the motion of the offense nicely, and is connecting better with star receivers Travis Talianko and Christian Hess, who caught the majority of the touchdowns Friday.

“Four games in one day is a lot,” St. Francis head coach Jim Bonds said. “We got a lot of guys that are banged up from playing both ways and we had to rest a few of them the last game. We are icing up tonight and going hard tomorrow.”
