Arrest After Resident Saw, Said Something In Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach police thanked a resident for their help in noticing a suspicious person at a store closed for remodeling off Glenneyre Street.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Even the cops know when to tip their cap to residents lending a hand. This time, the Laguana Beach Police Department thanked a resident who noticed suspicious activity and acted upon it. On Saturday afternoon, the LBPD received a call from someone who noticed something wasn't quite right.

"Effective law enforcement requires a partnership with the community," they said over Facebook. "A citizen caller noticed a suspicious vehicle parked near a store that was closed for remodeling."

When officers arrived, a man stepped from from the closed store to the car in question. As the LBPD approached, the occupants in the car "quickly began adjusting things inside the car with the speed of a 'three-card-monte street hustler," they said.
