Bullets Found On Middle School Grounds In Laguna Beach
Police and a K9 searched the middle school campus after three .22 caliber bullets were found.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A Laguna Beach middle school was the source of much police activity this week after the discovery of three .22 caliber bullets on campus.
On Monday, the Principal of Thurston Middle School contacted the Laguna Beach Police Department to report that two separate students, one inside of a sixth-grade classroom and the other at an unknown location on the campus, each found one of the two bullets.
An immediate investigation ensued, Laguna Beach Police Dept. Sgt. Jim Cota said.

Two days later the school notified investigators that a third .22 caliber bullet was discovered inside another sixth-grade classroom.
Laguna Beach Police Department, along with a specialized K9, completed a thorough search of the entire Thurston Middle School campus. No additional rounds of ammunition were located.

"Investigators have not received any information or discovered any evidence of a threat toward students or staff," Cota said. "The Laguna Beach Police Department will continue to work with the school in an ongoing effort to provide the utmost safety to the students and residents of our community."
