Photos: LBHS Breakers Engulf Anaheim Colonists in CIF Playoffs, 49-13
It's onto the second round of CIF-SS playoffs for the victorious—and perhaps unstoppable—LBHS Breakers.
It's a beautiful thing when the home football team wins. And dozens of hearty souls in the bleachers of Anaheim's Glover Stadium who braved the chilly Friday evening got to witness the beauty of the Laguna Beach High Breakers dousing the Anaheim Colonists, 49-13.
With the guidance of head coach Mike Churchill, Norton Penney scored four touchdowns and rushed for 211 yards. Scoring two touchdowns and rushing for 205 yards was Drake Martinez. Robert Clemens intercepted the ball and ran 98 yards for a touchdown. Kicker Robbie McInerny put seven points on the board for Laguna. Larry Stewart added to the effort with 32 yards rushing and 58 yards passing.
Come and support the Breakers this coming Friday at Laguna Beach High's Guyer Field, as they host the second round of the CIF Southern Division playoffs against Segerstrom High. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Go Beach!
