City Moves To Take Control Of South Laguna Beaches In 2023

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — South Laguna beaches will have a new owner come March 2023, after the city announced that it would assume ownership of all southern beaches at Tuesday's Laguna Beach City Council meeting.

At the meeting, council members approved the Cooperative Transfer Agreement with the County of Orange of all county beach properties in Laguna Beach.

According to the city, the agreement includes easements, leases, licenses and permits for city ownership, maintenance and operations of the coastal properties. The City of Laguna Beach is scheduled to take over South Laguna beaches as of March 2023.
