City Prepares For Annual 4th Of July Celebration In Laguna Beach
There are a few things Laguna Beach residents need to know ahead of the city's annual 4th of July fireworks show.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The City of Laguna Beach is gearing up for its annual Independence Day fireworks show, and residents looking to watch fireworks beachside can enjoy the festivities come July 4 at 9 p.m.
The city's firework show will originate from Monument Point at Heisler Park, the city said. Monument Point area will be closed all day July 4, and Heisler Park from Myrtle Street to the Rockpile Beach will close at roughly 5 p.m. the same day.
Laguna Beach residents and visitors can hop aboard one of the city's free trolleys, which will operate under a modified schedule during the celebration. The Coastal Route will run from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the Canyon Route from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The regular trolley schedule will resume July 5, the city said.
According to the Laguna Beach Department of Marine Wildlife and Safety, Rockpile Beach and parts of Picnic Beach will be closed at 5 p.m. the day of the event. Birdrock Beach will remain open, and the bulk of Picnic Beach will be closed all day.

In anticipation of the holiday, the city asked residents to keep the following in mind:
- No fireworks of any kind are allowed in Laguna Beach.
- No alcohol on the beaches.
- No smoking in public places.
- No single-use plastics are allowed on beaches, trails or in parks.
- No drone use over City beaches, Heisler Park, Main Beach Park, Treasure Island Park, or Crescent Bay Park without a valid Remote Pilot Certificate issued by the FAA.
- No canopies, awnings, umbrellas, tents or covers over six feet in height or wider than six feet square on or in any public beach, park. Any canopy, awning, umbrella, tent or cover installed, shall have no more than one side closed to public view.
- No portable barbecues are allowed in City beaches or parks.
- No dogs are allowed on City beaches from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the summer season, which extends from June 15 through Sept. 10.
Residents who see or hear fireworks being used in Laguna Beach are asked to call the city's non-emergency hotline at 949-497-0701.
