Cop Who Brought Pie And Condoms To Meet With Girl, 13, Convicted
The verdict is in for this former California Highway Patrol officer, deciding whether or not he would join the sex offender registry.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Though his original conviction was overturned on appeal, a retired California Highway Patrol lieutenant who was caught in a sex-sting operation will now have to register as a sex offender, a jury has said.
Perverted Justice set up the original sting that drew Deck to drive an hour with a key-lime pie, camera and condoms to a meeting in a Laguna Beach park. There, instead of the girl he thought he was meeting, he found an undercover agent posing as a 13-year-old, a prosecutor told a jury Tuesday.
Stephen Robert Deck has already served one year in jail, and five years of probation for the 2009 crime, and cannot be jailed a second time.
