County Approves City Takeover Of Laguna Beaches Come February
Orange County Supervisors approved a plan to turn over jurisdiction of about 1.2 miles of beach property to Laguna Beach on Tuesday.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA β Orange County Supervisors approved a plan to turn over jurisdiction of about 1.2 miles of beach property to Laguna Beach on Tuesday.
The beaches that will be turned over to the city include: Aliso Beach, Camel Point Beach, Laguna Royale Beach, Table Rock Beach, Thousand Steps Beach and West Street Beach.
According to officials, the city will take over maintenance and lifeguard services by Feb. 28. The county will be $22 to the City of Laguna Beach as well, reports said.

"It's a win-win situation for both the county and the city," Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett said during the meeting. "We will no longer have to maintain these very expensive grounds... And the county will actually break even in six to eight years and save a substantial amount of money down the line that we can invest in other parks programs."
