Interfaith Gathering for Showing of Documentary Film: "Out of Cordoba"

About the Film:

OUT OF CORDOBA is a documentary about the legacy of the Spanish city of Cordoba and its meaning for our times. The film explores the dramatic life stories of Averroes and Moses Maimonides, the two leading personalities, a Muslim and a Jew, of medieval Islamic Spain and that era’s heritage of "convivencia" (religious coexistence). OUT OF  CORDOBA is also about the relevance of Averroes and Maimonides to contemporary interfaith relations between Muslims, Jews, and Christians, and the struggle against religious extremism and xenophobiain our own times. A discussion with director Jacob Bender will follow the screening.
