Festival Of Arts Welcomes Acclaimed Artists For New Special Event

The Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach is launching a free off-site special event series called "Artists on Artists."

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Art enthusiasts, mark your calendars — the Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach is launching a free special event series called "Artists on Artists" April 7, featuring award-winning Laguna Beach resident Dagmar Chaplin and established artist Kate Cohen.

The series is hosted on the first Thursday of every month, and is designed to be a "lively, intimate one-on-one discussion between local artists about their art and creative processes," a Festival of Arts news release stated.

At the event, Cohen will speak with Berlin-born Chaplin about her inventive and surrealistic form of art, as well as her influences, motivations and more. Chaplin's collection, Dagman Chaplin: Artifacts and Fiction, is currently on display at the Festival of Arts South Gallery, which is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

"Taking Chaplin's views of people, from the world famous to the virtual unknowns, Chaplin has produced art with a color palette that is easily recognizable as hers and hers alone." A Festival of Arts news release said.

Residents interested in attending the event can experience "Artists on Artists" live from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Festival of Arts South Gallery, 1006 S. Coast Hwy. The series will also be streamed live on the Festival of Arts Facebook page at 6 p.m.
