Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're seeing a decent dose of energy along this stretch of coast, but unfortunately those conditions aren't so good!!
There's some bump or even light chop on the water thanks to the variable west northwest wind. There's a mixture of some west northwest and northwest swells and some southerly energy underneath it.
That recipe is making for some fast and fairly sectiony lines which are a little jumbled-up by the wind. Most Laguna Beach spots are running about waist to chest high, with the top combo spots pulling some larger sets.

At 7:16 this morning the tide dropped to a 0.3 low which will have many breaks lacking water mid-morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 2.8 high at 2:00 this afternoon.
If you're going to get wet, then you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 58 degrees. Good luck out there!!

FYI...the County Health Department urges surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to the likelihood of increased bacteria levels especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
