Hotel Laguna Reopens After Fights, Soft Opening: 5 Things To Know
The hotel reopened this weekend after city officials closed its doors due to fights. Here's five things to know this week in Laguna Beach.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Cinco de Mayo weekend has come to a close, and the skies have begun to part in Laguna Beach, promising warmer weather ahead.

- We took a look at your local hospitals to find which ones are graded the highest across Orange County. See which area hospitals in and around Orange County got an "A" grade in the latest survey.
- A Laguna Beach resident is offering $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of any person responsible for vandalizing the home of Laguna Beach City Manager Shohreh Dupuis, the city said. According to the city, the Laguna Beach Police and Community Foundation is already offering a $10,000 reward while the culprits are sought.
- Do you want to help homeless or at-risk babies in your community? Nonprofit HomeAid Orange County is hosting a Diaper Drive in partnership with the Laguna Beach Police and Fire departments starting Monday and lasting through June 2. Residents were asked to drop off donations of essential items such as diapers, wipes and baby food at the Laguna Beach Police Station or Fire Station.
- A new recreation center is opening its doors in Laguna Beach for a soft opening starting Tuesday, May 9. The former St. Catherine's School site will reopen its doors as the new Laguna Beach Community and Recreation Center this week, the city said. The first programming will be indoor drop-in basketball on Tuesday, May 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. To participate, residents must pay $5 on-site.
- Hotel Laguna and 14 West reopened its doors Friday, May 5, after reported scuffles at both of the hotels prompted city officials to close the establishments on Tuesday, May 2. The reopening comes after the Orange County Superior Court issued a temporary restraining order requested by the hotel's investor group prohibiting Mo Honarkar or anyone acting on his behalf from coming within 200 feet of both hotels, according to the city.
