Laguna Beach Goat Watch: Four Legged Fuel Modification Continues

These goats are scaling to great heights in Laguna Beach, thanks to Animal Control officers.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The hills are alive with Laguna Beach Fire Goats, being managed by Animal Services officers. The goats have returned to conduct fuel modification, according to the City of Laguna Beach in recent release.

Due to the rain of 2016 and early 2017, the hillsides of Laguna Beach flourished with growth which the city calls upon these four legged firefighters to manage.

The city of Laguna Beach said in an April release about the goat's arrival. "This growth in the City’s fourteen fuel modification zones must now be managed prior the beginning of fire season," the city stated in April.
