Mission Hospital Gets Vitamin C Boost With Cuties Delivery
Baskets & bags of mandarin oranges will fill hospital breakrooms across the Southland this week thanks to a 2.5 million mandarin donation.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Hospital and Healthcare workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic are getting a big vitamin c boost thanks to a generous donation from central California based Cuties mandarins. Laguna Beach's Mission Hospital is on the list for a big drop off, we were told.
Semi-trucks were filled and ready to roll Wednesday, bringing bags of oranges to southland hospitals for delivery later in the week, a spokesperson told Patch.
A total of 28 Southern California hospitals will find free Cuties mandarin oranges in their break rooms beginning Thursday, thanks to the citrus company's donation of 2.5 million mandarin oranges delivered this week.

The donation of 100,000 31-pound bags of Cuties equates to roughly $500,000, a company spokesperson told Patch.
"We are overwhelmingly thankful for all their hard work and fearless efforts in fighting this global pandemic," they said.

The donations will go to hospitals in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Diego County:
