Retired CSULA Professor, 71, Reported Missing: Have You Seen Ala?
Laguna Beach police officers sought the public's help in finding a man who possibly has dementia after he was reported missing in August.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach Police Department detectives sought the public's help Friday after a 71-year-old man was reported missing.
Mohammad Ala was last seen on Aug. 15 at 9:24 a.m. on Firestone Boulevard in the City of Downey.
"Ala's family is concerned for his well-being and he has not been seen or heard from since Aug. 15," a statement from the Laguna Beach Police Department read.

Mohammad Ala was last seen wearing denim pants, a gray shirt and possibly a straw hat. He stands at 5'8" and weighs around 125 pounds. He has receding hair and green eyes, authorities said.
He may suffer from dementia and was last known to be driving a 2006 gold Toyota Avalon with a license plate reading 5TKD181.

Rancho Mirage resident and former student Ernie Faraci told Patch that Ala is a retired CSU Los Angeles professor heavily involved in the LA community.
In addition, Ala's family told Patch that he owns a home in Long Beach.
