Laguna Beach Police Tackle Street-Racing, Loud Cars In Joint Operation
The joint operation was intended to address loud vehicles with modified exhaust and illegal street racing in Orange County cities.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach police officers participated in a joint operation with neighboring cities over the weekend in an effort to address loud vehicles with modified exhaust and illegal street racing over the weekend, the department reported.
The operation, dubbed the Main to Main detail by authorities, was hosted by the Newport Beach Police Department and included other law enforcement partners such as the Seal Beach Police Department, the Huntington Beach Police Department, the Garden Grove Police Department, the Santa Ana Police Department and the California Highway Patrol.
During the joint operation, 206 vehicles were stopped for violations, 177 vehicles were cited for vehicle code violations — including loud or modified exhaust — and three vehicle stops resulted in criminal arrests, according to the Laguna Beach Police Department.

"The Laguna Beach Police Department shares the same concerns as many of our residents and visitors due to the nuisance of loud vehicles," a statement from the Laguna Beach Police Department read. "We will continue to work diligently to address the issue."
