Laguna Beach Wave Check: Monday

Plenty of playful waves!

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report. Well, if you're bummed out about the start of the new work week, then go grab a session before you head into the office.

Yep, we're seeing plenty of playful-sized waves out there.  The conditions are starting off fairly clean with a mixture of modest southwest swell, some south southwest energy and minor northwest windswell in the water.

That recipe is offering some fast sectiony lines, with lots of steep workable shoulders. Most spots in Laguna Beach are running about waist to chest high, with the focal points pulling some shoulder high plus sets.

Taking a look at the tides ... at 7:55 this morning the tide climbs up to a 3.5 high and then drops to a 2.0 low at 12:31 this afternoon and then pushes back up to a 6.3 high at 6:56 this evening.

If you're planning on paddling, the water temperature has cooled off a bit, so throw on a thin fullsuit in the morning with averaging between 63 and 65 degrees. Have fun out there!
