Laguna Beach Wave Check: Monday

Mostly small energy.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're looking at mostly small energy along this stretch of coastline. So, you'll most likely want to break out a fish or a log, depending on where you're paddling.

The conditions are starting off pretty clean early on, with a mixture of some small-scale southeast swell and some minor northwest windswell in the water.

That recipe is offering some crumbly lines, with a few fun ones to be had. Most spots in Laguna Beach are running about knee- to waist-high, with the top spots picking up a few larger sets.

Taking a look at the tides ... at 7:58 this morning, it climbs up to a 3.1 high and then drops just a tad to a 2.8 low at 11:12 later this morning, then pushes back up again to a 5.3 high at 6:01 this evening.

If you're going to get wet, a spring suit is plenty for that a.m. session, with the water temperature averaging between 66 and 68 degrees. Have fun out there!
