Laguna Beach Wave Check: Thursday

Playful size waves on tap.

Good Thursday morning surf addicts, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report. Well, it looks like we're seeing some new energy move into our window. Yep, there's some playful-size waves to be had. So go get wet at some point during the day.

We have some pretty clean conditions early on, with mostly a mixture of new southwest swell and just a little northwest windswell in the water. That recipe is offering some fast semi-wally lines, with some nice left-handers to grab. Most Laguna Beach spots are running about knee- to stomach-high, with the standout south-facing breaks pulling some chest-high sets.

Taking a look at the tides ... at 9:27 this morning, it drops to a 1.5 low, which will have some spots needing water and lacking shape throughout mid-morning. The tide then pushes back up to a 4.6 high at 4:36 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, a thin fullsuit is plenty for that a.m session, with the water temperature averaging between 63 and 65 degrees. Have fun out there!
