LAGUNA BEACH, CA — More than two-miles of south Orange County coastline was reopened Sunday, after almost 100,000 gallons of sewage fouled the pristine waters Wednesday.

The spill was a result of a break in the city’s main sewer line, Laguna Beach city officials said.

County health officials closed the more than two-mile stretch of coastline, from Laguna Avenue to Blue Lagoon, to all water activity due to the high level of contamination from the spill.
