Laguna Resident Has Idea About Fixing The USPS, And Democracy
Longtime Laguna Beach resident Danny Freidenrich wants to save democracy, and he thinks the post office just may be the way to do it.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — In 1974, a Laguna Beach resident with some progressive ideas started the California Voter Group. Since that time, the nonprofit organization has encouraged Laguna Beach's high school students, and high school students across the state to fill out their ballots and vote.
In the wake of this week's attack on the United States Postal Service, Friedenrich feels he can help once again.
In an Op-Ed he wrote in the Los Angeles Times, Daily Pilot, he describes the current attacks on mail-in ballots at the United States Post Office as something we should stand up to. In this case, a visual journey of a ballot from a mailbox to points beyond.

"I invited friends in town to join me where ballots begin their journey to be counted," he wrote. "At the mailbox."
There, he described how no piece of paper, even a valuable baseball card, is more important than a ballot.

"Saving democracy is more important than who wins the White House," Friedenrich wrote. That is the one thing, he believes, everyone can agree on.
