Little Free Library Unveiled In Laguna Beach
You see them on street corners & in front of homes. These little libraries encourage reading, sharing and the art of helping each other.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — This week, the Laguna Beach Fire Department unveiled a treasure trove of books for anyone who might wish to borrow one.
Thanks to a donation from the Little Free Library Foundation, Laguna Beach Fire Station #3 now has their own Little Free Library.
Residents, firefighters and supporters gathered to dedicate the bright red library and to enjoy a potluck meal together.

"The library will serve firefighters, the school community and neighbors with the primary goal of raising awareness about nature, wildlife and our local environment," City Manager John Pietig said.
The library is stocked with books that entertain and inform about the local flora and fauna, as well as stories about firefighting and fire in California.

According to the nonprofit that runs the Little Free Library program, those who are interested can “take a book, return a book” in this free book exchange.
The libraries themselves come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books.
"Little Free Library book exchanges have a unique, personal touch," a spokesperson for the Little Free Library wrote. "There is an understanding that real people are sharing their favorite books with their community."
Laguna Beach hopes this little library will become a mini-town square for all to enjoy. So take a book, leave a book!
