Monday Wave Check: Return of the Dreaded Coastal Eddy

Winds are creating some less than favorable conditions.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report.  Well, it's not looking very inviting!  Yep, we're dealing with the return of the coastal eddy this morning, which means there's a variable south southeast wind.

Most spots in this neck of the woods are already seeing some texture or bump on the surface.  As far as the surf goes ... there's a fairly small mix of swells in the water.

We've got some lingering northwest windswell and some south-southwest energy out there.  That recipe is providing some crumbly and bumpy lines, with a few workable corners.

Most spots in Laguna Beach are pulling knee- to waist-high waves, with the standout breaks pulling not much more than that.  Taking a look at those tides ... at 10:24 this morning it climbs up to a 4.6 high, and then drains out to a 0.8 low at 3:48 this afternoon.

If you're going to get wet, you can definitely throw on a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees.  Good luck out there!
