Photos: Five Years Later, Max Caputo's Death Still Resonates

Friday marked the five-year anniversary of the death of 17-year-old Max Caputo, a Laguna Beach High student and avid skimboarder, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver while riding his bike near the corner of Coast Hwy. and Upland Road in the early morning hours of August 19, 2006. The case has never been solved.

A bronze plaque on a wall marks the accident site.
