Pictures Of Laguna Beach Sought For City Photo Contest

The city's photo contest is open to those who live, work or exhibit in Laguna Beach. Here's what to know.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA β€” Are you a local Laguna Beach shutterbug? Do you think your photos of the community could win you some extra cash?

The City of Laguna Beach is hosting a Photo Contest, and this year's contest theme is capturing your favorite trail, beach, event or view in Laguna Beach, the city said.

The city encouraged residents to submit images that display the "vibrancy, vitality and livability of our city." The city also encouraged residents to submit images with people in them, either from afar or close-up.

Residents can use the following categories as a guide to the photo contest submissions:

  • Active Laguna
    • Biking, Surfing, Hiking, and Walking
    • Example: My favorite hiking trail
  • My Community
    • Events, Art, Restaurants, Culture, and City-Sponsored Activities
    • Example: My favorite art piece
  • Environmental
    • Beach vistas, sunsets, and views of open space
    • Example: My favorite spot to watch the sunrise

In order to submit a photo, all photos must be taken within the city limits of Laguna Beach. Each participant may enter up to three photographs, and photographs must not have been previously published β€” unless they were originally posted to Instagram.

To enter the contest, residents must live, work or exhibit in Laguna Beach. First prize photos in each category will win $500, and additional winners will receive $100 each.
