Pride Tower Update, Promenade Workshop In Laguna: 5 Things To Know

LAGUNA BEACH, CA β€” Happy Monday, Laguna Beach! Now that Mother's Day is behind us, it's back to business as usual.

This week, coastal residents can expect temperatures ranging from the mid-to-low '70s, with partly cloudy skies on the horizon for Laguna Beach.

  1. The City is currently accepting applications for the following committees and boards: Planning Commission, Arts Commission, Emergency & Disaster Preparedness Committee, Housing & Human Services Committee and Personnel Board. Residents must apply by Thursday, May 18. To learn more about applying, click here.
  2. A new mural is on display in Laguna Beach. "Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans" was recently installed by PangeaSeed Foundation, the city announced Thursday. The mural is currently on display in the Peppertree Parking lot in Downtown Laguna Beach, the city said.
  3. Laguna Beach residents were urged to save the date for a Road Safety Expo on Sunday, May 21. The annual expo is appropriate for all ages and residents were encouraged to bring their bikes. For more information, click here.
  4. Residents will hear an update on South Laguna beaches at this week's city council meeting. During the meeting, council members will also discuss moving the Pride Tower located at Camel Point Beach in order to address resident safety concerns. Laguna Beach City councilmembers meet Tuesday, May 16 at 5:30 p.m. at Laguna Beach City Hall, 505 Forest Avenue.
  5. The City of Laguna Beach is hosting a public workshop this Wednesday, May 17, to discuss and unveil concepts to convert the Promenade on Forest into a permanent fixture in the community. The meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Laguna Beach and Susi Q Center, 380 3rd St.
