Shelf Elf Elbee Returns To Laguna Beach

If you see him out and about, be careful to not touch! the magical, mischievous "Elbee" is back! Let us know if you spot him around town.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Winds are howling, and even the local shelf elf knows that the Laguna Beach Fire Department is on the case. Thanks to this public service message, it proves that even though the City of Laguna Beach loves to have fun they also know what really matters. The city has seen its share of worry from wildfires and mudslides. Perhaps, that is why residents of Laguna Beach love the sunshine, the panoramic vistas, sipping coffee at Heidelberg Cafe and most weekdays in December and can see the fun of finding their very own shelf elf "Elbee" hanging out around town even when the blowing Santa Ana winds really do make the weather frightful.

"Our Christmas Elf, Elbee has been spotted around town," the city of Laguna Beach spokesperson said. "Elbee will be around until Christmas Eve, appearing in a different City location each day."

With Santa Ana winds howling through Laguna on Thursday, it was only natural for the little guy to do his civic duty and make sure that fire hydrant was in tip top shape.

The shelf elf phenomenon is simple, unless you are a tired parent of small children who rise early to see where the mischievous characters turn up. In Laguna Beach, Elbee was introduced and named by the community in 2016. One year later, he "appeared" again thanks to the City of Laguna Beach twitter page. Watch for Elbee to pop up and say hello at various local landmarks.
