LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A tech-savvy trash can has found a new home at Main Beach in Laguna Beach, city officials announced Thursday.

The new Big Belly Station Pilot Program launched this week, and city officials are taking the pilot program as an opportunity to determine future locations appropriate for the Big Belly Stations.

According to the city, the stations are solar-powered and include a trash compactor to reduce the amount of space the waste takes up inside of the bin.
