Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report. Well, the small energy is continuing, but it looks like the swell direction is changing a bit. That means we could see a fun window at some point during the day.
The conditions are nice and clean early on, with a mix of energy in the water. We're seeing a little more south-southwest swell and less of that west-northwest energy today. That recipe is making for some soft sectiony lines, with many spots seeing shore-breaky conditions early to mid-morning due to that high tide.
Most spots in Laguna Beach are running about knee-high, with those top south facing breaks pulling waist-high waves, with maybe a few plus sets. However, farther down south you'll find some more surf in the knee- to chest-high range!

At 8:23 this morning it climbs up to a 4.7 high, which will be a bit of a problem mid-morning. Many spots will be pretty swamped and breaking close to the beach. Things should improve once that tide turns around and eventually drops to a 0.3 low at 2:38 this afternoon.
If nothing else...go get wet, enjoy the nice weather and throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 58 degrees. See ya in the water!
