Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report. Well, this stretch of sand has come to life. Yep, we're definitely seeing plenty of playful size waves out there today!
The only bummer...we're already seeing some texture or even light bump on the water thanks to the the variable southerly winds. It's possible we could see that wind lay down at some point during the day.
Taking a look at the waves...we have mainly south swell along with some very minimal west northwest windswell in the water. That recipe is giving this neck of the woods some fast drained-out lines, with some fun corners to snag. The shape improve once the tide fills-in a bit.

Most Laguna Beach spots are seeing knee to chest high waves, with the top south facing breaks pulling shoulder high waves, with some larger sets. At 4:51 early this morning the tide dropped to a negative 1.3 low which will have many spots lacking water early to mid-morning. The tide then climbs up to a 3.8 high at 11:20 later this morning and then drops again to a 2.0 low at 4:03 this afternoon.
If you're going to get out there and grab a session...throw on no more than a 3/2 fullsuit for at least that a.m session, with the water temperature averaging between 61 and 63 degrees. Have fun out there!!
