Woman ID'd In Fatal Laguna Beach Coast Highway Crash
The 25-year-old woman died as she was crossing Coast Highway near Mountain Road in Laguna Beach on Friday.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A pedestrian who died Friday evening after a crash on Coast Highway in Laguna Beach was identified by authorities, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.
The crash happened at 6:24 p.m. Friday in the area of South Coast Highway and Mountain Road. When Laguna Beach police and firefighters arrived, marine safety officers were already attempting to save the life of the pedestrian, who was lying in the roadway.

The woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was identified as 25-year-old Eve Amanda Corinne Bartlett. Orange County Sheriff's Department Spokesperson Sgt. Mike Woodruff told The Daily Pilot that Bartlett had been experiencing homelessness.
Authorities said an initial investigation showed that Bartlett was struck by a sedan on South Coast Highway near Mountain Road as she was crossing the street.

Witnesses told police that the woman was not in the crosswalk when she was hit by the vehicle.
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.
The motorist involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, authorities said.
