1 Killed in 5 Freeway Crash
At least one person died in a crash between a jeep and a car on the I-5 Freeway at Crown Valley Parkway.
MISSION VIEJO, CA At least one person was killed in a collision between a jeep and a car on the San Diego (5) Freeway in Mission Viejo, according to the California Highway Patrol in Orange County.
The crash took place on the southbound 5 Freeway at the Crown Valley Parkway onramp, just north of Saddleback College, at 11:10 p.m. Friday, according to the CHP.
The name of the deceased was withheld pending notification of next of kin. The person's gender and age also were not immediately available from authorities.

The crash shut down the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes on the southbound 5 Freeway. A SigAlert was issued by the CHP at 11:48 p.m. The lanes were cleared and the SigAlert was cancelled at 3:22a.m., according to the CHP.
