The shop, located at 34114 Coast Highway, was noted for its A-frame building and drive-thru window.

"It has been a pleasure serving you for these past 32 years," JC Beans owners wrote in an Instagram post. "We are looking for another location to move."

A new address for the well-loved coffeehouse was not immediately identified.

The coffeehouse was founded in 1994 by Ozzie Olea, and was named Business of the Quarter by the City of Dana Point in 2025.

News of the closure was met with protest from local residents, who lamented the loss of the independent business.

"I simply cannot live without JC Beans," wrote Carly Hume on Instagram. "There has to be a solution out there! Your community will back you up wherever you land next."

"Please open another location, I need that chai like my life depends on it." Taylor Kellerman wrote on Instagram.
