Another One Bites the Dust

Stop self service and save a job.

Just got back from a nice vacation that caused us to fly out of John Wayne Airport. I must say the place is big but that's not my point.

We parked at the airport. when we went to leave, I was struck by the fact that there were three lines to use to check out but only one person to help us. The other two lines were self-service. Not only were the other two self-serve, but the one that was manned only took cash. You had a choice, pay cash and keep a person employed or use a card, and oil a machine.

Each time we use a self-service device we put another person out of a job. In this case we put six people (three shifts) out of work at the one lot we used. I gather it's the same for all lots.

We refuse to use self-check out at grocery or hardware stores. We hate the new self-service at airline counters. Fortunately, they are so poorly handled that the counter person is still there to handle the problems that occur when the blasted machines don't work right.

Join me and stay away from self-service lines. Keep your fellow man and woman employed. An employed person spends money and keeps other people employed. When was the last time you saw a machine purchase anything? I know people produce the machines but where does it stop?
