Memorial Day Challenge: Contribute Your Stories
Do something different this Memorial Day weekend.

Every year on Memorial Day millions of Americans across the country take the day off of work and celebrate the start of summer. It is also a day where we take time to remember the brave men and women who died while serving our country. This year, before you break out the barbecues and start grilling the burgers, I want you to do something different.
I want you to dig deep back through your family’s history and find out if how many of your family members past or present have served in our military. Find out their stories from family members and post them in comment section below.

After prying at my father’s hazy memory, I was able to find out that three members of my family have served in the American military with each of them in a different branch. My grandpa served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years. My great grandfather, a navigator in the U.S. Air Force, served for three years as well. My great uncle served in the U.S. Army and fought in Vietnam. He drove ambulances during the war. Unfortunately, he was unable to live up to his last name (Driver) and ended up crashing his ambulance and got sent home early.
