Mercury Retrograde Back in July

Here comes Mercury Retrograde again. This is a period of time when Mercury seems to travel backward. When Mercury is retrograde it can cause all kinds of havoc but there are also some things you can do that really get a boost from the retrograde motion of Mercury. Mercury goes retrograde on July 14 until August 7. Here's a list of a few do's and don'ts for during the retrograde.

Buying Stuff at Close Out Sales – Mercury retrograde can cause impulse buying with later regrets. Be careful of buying things you can't return. While you may get a great price during a close out you are also stuck with the item if you have second thoughts.

Starting with a New Personal Trainer – The retrograde motion of Mercury is a great time to start a and that includes starting with a personal trainer. If you find that your interest in exercise wanes after a few weeks it will be renewed again on the next retrograde.

Getting a Dog – The time of Mercury retrograde is not a good time to . Getting a dog is a decade-plus commitment. But if you acquire your dog during this time you may regret that decision on future retrogrades. Since retrogrades happen three or four times a year you could end up questioning your decision 40 times or more.

Patching a Plumbing Leak – You can't wait to fix a leak and so it must be done whether Mercury is in retrograde or not. But do ask the plumber if there's a guarantee because the same leak may spring up in just a few weeks.

Learning a Language – The nice thing about the retrograde of Mercury is that it brings your attention back to a subject each time it goes retrograde. And since Mercury rules communication the retrograde is a perfect time to study a foreign language.

Launching a Website – Mercury retrograde could be symbolized by a racehorse stumbling out of the gate. Be cautious trying to launch a new website during this time. You may find it populated with misspellings, bloopers and broken links.

Backing Up Your Phone Contact List – This is something I would recommend before Mercury officially goes retrograde but if you haven't done it in a while now's a good time to back up your contact list. Mercury rules phones and when it's retrograde any number of things can happen to yours.

Trying a New Restaurant – This is a great time to explore new options. Try a place mentioned by friends or one you've seen on your morning commute. It's also a good time to go back to a restaurant you haven't been to in a while.
