Pray This is a Mistake

Is it wrong that a person cannot pray outside the White House? You should be angry. Prayer is a basic freedom or isn't it?

I must confess that I am not one given to prayer. I have a deep belief in God but praying has never been part of my life. That said I have to pray that what I read in the O.C. Register was a mistake.

It said on Sunday, May 6, on page 14 that "O.C. Pastor arrested while praying near the White House." Further in the story it is reported that Pastor Wiley Drake and Rev. Pat Mahoney and three others were arrested while they knelt to pray outside the security fence at the White House.

It doesn't say they were chanting slogans to bring down the USA or BHO. They were praying and the security guard told them they could not kneel and pray outside our White House. They had to move along.

Where are we heading as a country and a people if we can't kneel and pray outside the White House? I suppose next people won't be able to camp out for months near Wall Street and disrupt commerce. Oh, wait that's right, that was allowed, even encouraged by many. Or maybe a black person will get shot by a Latino and the press and members of our government will shout for the killer to be judged without trial. Oh, that's right that's going on now.

I can ignore some of the things going on right now with the hopes that we can turn things around in the future but if any of you who read this blog, pray ask yourself should you be allowed to pray anywhere you want in this fine country.

Should you, if your were in DC want to stop at your White House and kneel and say a prayer for our country's future be allowed to do so? I promise you if we ever go there I will stop and kneel and say a prayer for our country, our service men and women and the freedoms we once had.

This is our country and it needs all the prayers it can get.
