Recycling: The Easy vs. The Hard Way
How Laguna Niguel residents choose to recycle. There are a number of ways in which to do it, all are environmentally-friendly.
Being eco-friendly, going 'Green,' saving the planet; however you want to phrase it, looking after the world in which you live, specifically the part of the world that you call home, is important.
One of the many ways in which Laguna Niguel residents contribute to a smaller carbon footprint, save the oceans from chemicals and plastics that can harm animals and humans alike, is to recycle.
Most of us have this simple and easy process taken care of for us, just by putting cans, bottles and anything else recycle-worthy, into a specific trash can. We take that trash can to the front of our residence and the rest is done. We have indeed contributed to making our town a better place. I call this, the easy method. No thinking is involved, other than green trash can versus non-green trash can.

The hard way, is what I refer to when one goes out of their way to recycle. I guess calling it the hard way is a little false as this way includes a little coinage in your pocket after completion. This being said, it also requires some dirty work on the part of the recycler.
There are many places in Laguna Niguel that offer residents a place to recylce their bottles and cans (See here for more details). I feel like I am unearthing a pretty cool and untapped resource to you all by telling you this. Many of you are missing out on this gem! However, I do think that the hard way is labeled as such because we just don't care to get our hands dirty. Not utilizing the many recycle centers we have because its easy to just let the garbage man do it, is a horrid excuse. Get out there and separate your bottles from your cans yourselves. Get dirty; contribute !

Trust me, the sense of accomplishment and the small amount of change in your pocket afterward will give you a bigger sense of being 'Green' than letting someone else do it.
I hope this rant of mine resonates with some of you, and encourages you to get out there and do ALL you can to make our city clean and in turn, the Earth. Recycling is good for us all, why not do it the hard way for once?
