Savoie's Fare Great for Dining and Dessert
Savoie's Fare Pastry & Cafe is a wonderful bakery that also serves delicious meals.
Almost every event that I have hosted at my home, has involved me picking up a dessert or two from Savoie’s Fare Pastry & Cafe. Their cakes, fruit tarts, Yule logs, cookies and pastries are as delicious as they are beautiful, and I have never been disappointed. Each time I stop in to pick up whatever I have ordered, I notice people in the attached dining area enjoying a meal, but until recently, I have never had the opportunity to have dinner there.
We entered through the same door as the pastry shop and were impressed by the display of desserts and pastries. We were led to a small attractive dining room and seated. The wine list had some interesting choices including La Crema Chardonnay, White Hall Lane Merlot, and Silverado Cabernet. All the wines are sold by the glass or bottle. We each selected a glass of Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay and looked over the menu.
Starters include coconut shrimp, chicken vegetable pot stickers, tuna tartar, crunchy wrap (tortilla filled with beans, rice, pico de gallo, avocado and cheese) and warm stuffed dates. There are a large number of salads, many of which can be ordered in a petite size or dinner size.

Entrée choices include pastas, a variety of seafood, meats and poultry and several delicious-sounding sandwiches on fresh-baked bread. We decided to share a house salad. I chose the black and white linguine and my husband selected the veal cutlet marsala on fettucine alfredo.
Before the salad, our waitress brought a plate of lovely, warm rosemary rolls along with some breadsticks. They were absolutely wonderful. The split house salad was fairly large. It came with beautiful greens, purple cabbage, shredded carrots, cucumber and tomato chunks and a delightful, slightly sweet, light dressing.

The main courses came beautifully presented. My black and white linguine, was actually pasta that was white on one side and black on the other. It was prepared with four very flavorful tiger shrimp and chunks of lobster in a delicious, creamy tomato sauce. It was excellent. My husband’s veal was tender and well-prepared. The chunks of fresh tomato balanced the creamy alfredo sauce and he enjoyed every bite.
We were way too full to order dessert, but our waitress kindly packed up a piece of chocolate cake for us to take home, along with the rest of my pasta.
