That Familiar Voice—JACK FM's Own Tami Heide Dishes About Radio
Tami Heide host and writer at 93.1 JACK-FM talks about a day in the life of a radio DJ.

I had the pleasure of having a quick interview with the amazing and uber talented Tami Heide. I met Tami back when I was an intern at KROQ in the 1990s. She's an inspiration to me and many with her quick wit and sense of humor.

Mosha: A day in the life of a Tami Heide at work?
Tami: Write general lines, write topical lines, go through phone calls to 866-931-JACK and catalog the ones worth saving, answer listeners, "What's That Song?" questions, record and write Concert Calendar and Jacktivities.
Mosha: The highs and lows—what is the most memorable day you've had on the job?
Tami: I'm always amazed amused and flattered when anyone recognizes me and likes my work!
Mosha: Well you're very talented and loved Tami! If you could do one thing over what would it be?
Tami: No do-overs, hopefully I've learned from mistakes. I've always said radio is like a shark, it just keeps moving forward.
Mosha: Awesome, how about sharing, do you have a music crush?
Tami: I'll never tell;)!
Mosha: Haahaa! OK! So whose show do you (almost) never miss?
Tami: Oh, you mean radio, right? Stephanie Miller and Randi Rhodes on KTLK-AM 1150, Daily Show and Bill Maher and Colbert Report on TV.
Mosha: Who was your inspiration? Did they help shape your style?
Tami: Tracy Roach and Carla Raswyck and Kathryn Lauren on WBCN in Boston. It took a long time to stop caring so much and just let the show flow.
Mosha: When not listening to the radio, do you prefer iPod or Pandora?
Tami: I feel like I do my own little show on my Facebook page!
Mosha: Do you have any recommendations for young broadcasters getting into the business?
Tami: GET OUT NOW! Repent ye sinners before it's too late! Or have fun with it, try all aspects of the biz.
Mosha: LOL! That's good advice Tami! Most importantly what size shoe do you wear?
Tami: 7
