Was I Scared? You Bet!

Backpack left behind caused me to leave the theater. What would you have done?

I have always been thought of as a "Man's Man." Whatever that really meant, I am not sure. I do know that I never backed down from a fight growing up. I never ran away. Can't remember ever really being scared of anyone until this past Sunday. My wife and I went to a movie, an early show on Sunday. We saw Oblivion and before it started I considered that we were going to be blown to oblivion. Why? As we walked to our seat in an already darkened theater I noticed a tall messy looking guy with blond hair following us into the row we selected. There were plenty of seats left in empty rows but he selected on that was about 4 or 5 seats from us. No sooner had he sat down he got up again and walked in a quick pace back out of the theater. It was then that I noticed he had left a black backpack sitting on the seat where he had been. I grabbed my wife's hand a left the theater. I went into the closet men's room figuring that's where this fellow went. Nope, not there. I then went to the next closest men's room. Nope, not there either. I then went for the manager. He and I re entered the theater. I looked for the strange man and there he was. He had moved his seat and the backpack was gone as well.Would I have even given the situation a passing thought prior to Boston?  I doubt it. Now questions run through my head. Should I have reacted as I did? Should I have alerted others in the audience? Should I have gone back into the theater with the manager to see if the guy had returned? Is this how it always going to be now? The manager told me he had searched the guys backpack before allowing him to enter. Are we going to get TSA's for movies as well as air travel. What would you have done? My wife thanked me. She had noticed the backpack as well. But, what would you have done?
