Watch Your Stuff at Salt Creek Beach, It Could Disappear Fast
Leave your items for a second and they will be gone.

Yesterday, my son and his friend went bodyboarding at in Dana Point. He hid his backpack which contained his cell phone, iPod, wallet and towel in the bushes. When he returned from the water, it was gone.
He reported it to the police and their response was that this was a very common occurence. He spoke with several of his friends and four reported that they had stuff stolen in the last week there.
I am not sure what the remedy is. I want him to have a cell phone to call us and some money if he needs it. It is a sad state that one cannot go to the beach and leave anything unatended.

Maybe there should be lockers at the beach, or increased police patrols to protect our kids' stuff.
It is not always easy to ask someone on the beach to watch your stuff. I post this just to warn people of the deadbeats cruising Salt Creek Beach.
