We Are Not First Anymore Are We?

Is it just me or have all of us Americans begun to realize that we just aren't first anymore? And, if we aren't first, should it bother us?

While our attention was pulled to the socializing of our ast week there was an announcement that China had successfully launched and returned three astronauts to outer space.

They are now on track to land someone on the moon. They are also on track to have their own people on their own Cool! Are you aware that we cannot even launch anyone into space? If we want to send someone to the space station we have to hitch a ride on a Russian rocket.

I guess if we say pretty please and pay enough, we get to go. But seriously doesn't that make you worry about where we are heading as a nation? We are losing our manufacturing base to other nations. Did I hear the word China again? We are losing our supremacy as the naval power of the world. Did I hear China again?

Our economy, once the driving force of the world now is at the mercy of what happens in Greece and other European countries. We are great at service jobs and government jobs but where did our manufacturing go?

Many of our nation's firms have moved their manufacturing overseas. Look at GE as an example?

I flew our flag over the 4th but noticed it, too, was made in China. I know this will seem weird but I can't blame Barry for this. I blame us. Shame on us for letting this happen to us. Now, where to we go from here? We get the government we deserve and the economy we generate and tolerate.
