What is the old saying? "It all depends on whose oxen is being gored." What could be more true then the recent turn around of Senator Portland's new found support of Gay Marriage. Before you get going this is not about Gay Marriage. It's about how a politician's views are easily changed and formed.
For years Mr Portland has been a support of the defense of marriage act signed into law by Bill Clinton. He, Mr Portland, felt that a viable marriage was that between one man and one woman. But now he has suddenly seen the light that Gay marriage is not only okay but that all people should have the right to enjoy wedded bliss. Why the change? He found out that his son is a gay, a homosexual, a queer. So, because it now strikes close to home Mr Portland supports the right for gays to be man and man or wife or whatever they would then call themselves. Isn't his switch typical of the politicians we entrust with running our country. Just think of all the laws passed that do not have any baring on the politician who passed the law. Think for a moment that Obamacare would have passed if the politicians had to live their lives with that coverage? You do know that they don't I trust? How are the politicians going to live under Social Security, Medicare or Medical? They aren't going to have to. How about gun control? Are they going to have their guards turn in their big magazines in favor of pea shooters? Government has stopped the White House tours. Has anyone suggested that all politicians take a 5% cut in salary and perks? See these laws and inconveniences do not affect them. They are above all of us. Speaking of that I better duck before a drone falls from the sky!
