Brush Fire Near Laguna Niguel's La Paz Sports Park Scorches One-Acre
A small brush fire at the Laguna Niguel La Paz Sports Park was quickly brought to a close by the OCFA, just 30-feet from area homes.

A small vegetation fire in Laguna Niguel near the La Paz Sports Park and area homes broke out Thursday evening, around 9 p.m. according to reports.
Orange County Fire Authority Captain Carlos Huerta stated that the brush fire began behind the La Paz Sports Park tennis courts—in the area of La Paz road and Aliso Creek Road, and was contained in just over an hour.
“About 50 firefighters were on scene at the brush fire,” Fire Authority spokesman Carlos Huerta said.
The fire burned approximately one acre before firefighters reached containment, and the blaze was considered under control by 10:15 p.m.

“The fire was located 30-feet from homes in the area, but it was stopped well before reaching them,” Huerta said. There is no report of injuries to firefighters or individuals in the area.
The cause of this fire is being investigated.
