The Shore Offers First Taste of Signature Hawaiian Shaved Ice Ahead of August 1 Grand Opening

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (July 27, 2026) – South Orange County residents won't have to wait until opening day to get their first taste of The Shore.
From Wednesday, July 29, through Friday, July 31, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the community is invited to a special Sneak Peek preview at The Shore in San Juan Capistrano, where guests can sample a selection of the restaurant's authentic Hawaiian-inspired handcrafted shaved ice before the official Grand Opening on Saturday, August 1, when the full menu of Hawaiian-inspired bowls, burritos and island favorites will be unveiled.
Located at 31654 Rancho Viejo Road, Suite G, The Shore replaces Campbell's Pacific Pearl Café, which has relocated just 20 steps away into a larger space.
The Sneak Peek will exclusively feature a rotating selection of the restaurant's signature shaved ice, giving the community an early look at one of The Shore's standout offerings. Flavors include Lilikoi Pineapple, Raspberry Watermelon, Mojito Lime Mint, Tamarind Chamoy, Hibiscus Lemon, Mango Tajin, Coconut Cream and Salvadoran Fruit Punch. Guests can also add banana coconut soft serve for an extra indulgence.
Created by prolific Orange County restaurateur and chef Michael Campbell, The Shore, when it fully opens on August 1, will bring fresh island flavors to San Juan Capistrano with crave-worthy poke bowls, loco moco, spam musubi, sushi-style burritos and premium shaved ice made with high-quality ingredients and bold tropical flavors.
"It all stemmed from a really good poke bowl when training over in Hawaii," Campbell said. "Then I went searching for a great loco moco here and couldn't find exactly what I wanted. I finally thought, 'I'll just make it myself.' That's really how this concept started."
Rather than simply recreating traditional Hawaiian fare, Campbell has developed a menu that blends island influences with his own culinary style.
"I love cooking what I crave and putting my own spin on every type of cuisine," he said.
When the full menu debuts on August 1, guests can enjoy made-to-order favorites including the Ahi Poke Bowl, Salmon Teriyaki Bowl, White Miso Chicken Bowl, Coconut Shrimp Bowl and Crab Fried Rice, along with sushi-style burritos and the restaurant's unique Inside-Out Crab Quesadita.
"We do things clean around here," Campbell said. "Clean eating, clean ingredients while keeping everything approachable."
The Shore joins Campbell's growing family of Orange County restaurants, including Pacific Pearl Café in San Juan Capistrano and Costa Mesa, with Irvine and Newport Beach locations coming soon, White Rooster in Dana Point and Capo Leisure House in San Juan Capistrano.
Designed as a counter-service restaurant, The Shore offers limited indoor seating and a shared outdoor patio with neighboring Pacific Pearl Café. The restaurant will also offer takeout and full-service catering for businesses, parties and special events.
After the Grand Opening, The Shore will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
