Every child's artwork will be featured in a brochure with his or her first name and age. The greeting cards will help fund the primary grade music program and to purchase new computers for the computer lab.

According to Principal Barbara Scholl, “Our school has always valued the arts.  This is a wonderful project that helps students create something special using their artistic skills, in addition to the fact that their parents love to send out cards that their own child created.”

Kindergartners through fifth-graders are participating, or about 25o total students, will try their hand at the art project.

“They can draw anything, but sometimes teachers will direct their students to draw a particular type of art,” Scholl said.

She said the greeting card company that publishes student artwork on cards as a fundraiser for the school was a great choice to get kids involved.

“We thought that this was a better fundraiser than some of the cookie dough type of fundraisers!’ Scholl said.

A sample card will be given to parents, and they can order the cards if they wish.  There is some student work that is typically chosen by the gift card company to be put in some retail stores, and a percentage of the proceeds is given to the school.
