A 31-year-old Capistrano Beach man died after his truck hit the center median on the 5 Freeway, spinning out of control and ejecting him.

CAMP PENDLETON, CA: A Capistrano Beach man has been identified as the victim in a fatal collision that was reported early Wednesday on northbound Interstate 5 north of Oceanside.

California Highway Patrol investigators determined that at about 11:42 p.m. Tuesday, Clayton Carothers Sandidge, 31, was driving alone in a white pick-up truck when it went into the center median and side-swiped the guardrail, causing the vehicle to lose control and go across all four lanes, hitting the jersey wall, according to a report from the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
