Casey Anthony Latex Mask Sells on Ebay for Just Under $1M: Would You Wear it?
Halloween is still months away, but people are already gearing up for the night of ghouls by purchasing masks. Local residents including Nicole Brown Simpson's sister were asked how they feel about the Anthony mask.

Halloween is a few months away, but one mask is already the talk of the Internet.
On July 27, a latex mask of recently acquitted murder defendant was sold on eBay by an L.A. man for just under $1 million. The online ad for the mask of the Florida mom, who was found not guilty on July 5 of killing her toddler daughter, Caylee, called it “possibly the most frightening mask on the planet."
Caylee’s skeletal remains were found in a swamp about six months after she disappeared. No cause of death was ever established.

Anthony, also known as "tot mom" in the media, was convicted only of lying to police investigating Caylee's disappearance and sentenced to four one-year sentences.
The latex mask of Anthony was listed as one of nine and was created for a parody video. There were 105 bids before the auction ended July 27.

The seller described the mask as “one of the best Halloween masks I've ever seen."
The eBay description included the following:
"Halloween is only a few months away. Forget Freddy, Jason, Meyers, here's your chance to scare the *#&% out of everyone and win every costume contest with this amazing Tot Mom latex rubber mask, possibly the most frightening mask on the planet. And I can almost guarantee it's the 'only' Casey mask on the planet. Sculpted to precision for a parody video by enigmatic pop artist/sculptor Torro, only 9 of these film props were made for production and I got my hands on a few after the video wrapped."
The winning bidder pledged to pay $999,900 for the item.
We asked residents what they thought of the mask and if they would ever wear it themselves.
Nicole Brown Simpson's sister, Tanya Brown, who lives in Dana Point, said, "That's our country. I think it is ridiculous, and I would never wear something like that. I think it is sick."
Brown said she remembered that after the trial in which O.J. Simpson was acquitted of murdering her sister, there were Halloween masks produced in the likes of her sister and O.J.
Other residents weighed in on the Anthony mask.
"It is giving her publicity that she doesn’t deserve," said Michael Christopher, 20, "and it's bad that businesses are trying to make money off of a horrible icon. I would never wear the mask because it is ruining the image of Caylee Anthony."
"It isn’t funny," said Paige Buck, 19. "I would never wear it, but during Halloween, that stuff happens. People like to be creepy."
Jennifer Kilger, 41 said, "I don’t see what the big deal is. I would never wear it. People like to dress up during Halloween and do weird things. Whoever wears the mask has no respect for Caylee Anthony."
"I think it’s abominable. I watched the entire court trial, and I was not happy from the verdict. I would never wear it for Halloween, and anyone who would has very poor taste," said Carol Peck, 67.
Tim Turner, 32 said, "It is crazy; our society obsesses about these court cases. It turns criminals into celebrities. The person who made the mask was smart for capitalizing off of such a big trial that was covered daily by the media. I would never wear the mask if it came out, and anyone who does lacks respect for Caylee Anthony."
If you missed out on this particular mask, don't worry. There are more on eBay, and for a lot less. There's also a mask of Anthony's dad, George Anthony, that's available for the next four days for $2,000.
